Jemma's Journey... How I have lost 3 stone and changed my life with the help of CGF.


I started at CGF 6 months ago, when I came accross the “Happy Healthy Fit” program advertised. I was very inspired by Lucy who came to join the Sass Bomb & Cheshire Melts team in December.


Lucy told me how amazing CGF was and that so far had lost a massive 6 stone on her journey. I couldn’t believe it! I sat and listened but never honestly thought I could achieve such a weight loss. Her passion and dedication is clear to see. But I now totally understand why this is so much more than your average “workout classes”.


So I decided to take the plunge and sign up. I was so nervous but excited at the same time.


I have always been massively over weight and struggled to stick to a healthy life style. When joining I was nearly 18 stone. I have always battled with my weight but my mental health. As a single mum with two children and I was always putting myself last. Consequently, neglected myself both physically and mentally.


My first class was Zoom bootcamp 6.30am, I was ready to go but extremely nervous. Everyone made me feel so welcome, not just the instructor but all the other people doing that class. It felt like a family from day dot. All classes being zoomed (because of lockdown) made it easy and accessible for me as getting up and going to the gym is hard without childcare all the time.


The great thing about HHF was I was able to try a wide range of classes.

I knew I would love the dance classes such as Zumba and Badass but I didn’t realise how much I’d enjoy classes that were more focused based e.g Total Tone and Kettles.

These classes have really helped me focus and target specific areas of my body. The instructors are wonderful at catering for everyone by giving alternatives throughout the classes. “If in doubt step it out”.


With different classes came different instructors and people taking part. Hand on heart I couldn’t be more grateful for all the friendly faces that came over and made me feel welcome.


Now we are back to ‘face to face classes’ Zumba in the park on a Monday evening really is a must try. I honestly never thought I’d have the confidence to do something like that but it is now the highlight of my week. Kim has a way of making everyone smile and laugh. It’s just so much fun.


It’s very hard to put into words just how much of a positive impact CGF has had on me. Not just my 3 stone weight loss up to now, but my fitness, mental health and well being. I’ve never felt apart of any team in my life but in CGF I have found a home with likeminded people. Im looking forward to continuing my journey with CGF this is only the beginning.
